Doyle Thornton - Director

Mr. Doyle Thornton is the director of the Bob Jones Marching Band and Wind Ensemble.  Mr. Thornton is a 1968 graduate of Northside High School in Warner Robins, Ga.  While there, he was twice selected to the Georgia High School All-State Band and was also selected as a Governor's Honors Student majoring in music.  He attended the University of Southern Mississippi and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1972.  He has been involved in post graduate studies at Troy State University, the State University of West Georgia, Florida State University and Auburn University, where he received his Masters in 2004.  Mr. Thornton came to Bob Jones in 1989 and began teaching with seventeen students.  Prior to his tenure here, Mr. Thornton taught in Georgia at Americus, Cairo, and Valdosta High Schools.  He was selected as Alabama's representative for Fifty Who Made a Difference in Music Education by School Band and Orchestra Magazine in 2001.

 

 

 

Keith Anderson

Keith Anderson - Assistant Director

After graduating from Muscle Shoals High School in 1996, Mr. Anderson attended the University of North Alabama and received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education Degree in 2001 and his Masters degree in Music Education in 2006.  Mr. Anderson also became a Vic Firth Education Team in 2006.  The Fall of 2007 marks the beginning of his seventh year at Bob Jones High School.  Mr. Anderson is the assistant director of the Bob Jones Marching Band and the director of the Bob Jones Concert Band and the Bob Jones Indoor Drumline.
