Hey! EVERYONE is encouraged
(and invited!!) to join with the Band Boosters (that's us! We're ALL Band
Boosters ... and Guard Boosters and Dance Boosters!) on Tuesday, July 29, 7:00
pm.
In addition to meeting,
greeting, and eating, you'll receive a 'sneak peak' at what's what and who's
who. Sign up sheets for committees and duties will be posted at this meeting as
well as the August 14 meeting. And T-shirt order forms should also be available
at this time. You will be able to order t-shirts and/or sweatshirts to wear to
the football games in support of our kids. And it will be
fun!
We all want to have a cookie
or two, AND we want to feed the band (to say "Welcome Back!") I will need bakers
and shakers! Are you available to bring some baked goods to share (anything
that doesn't need to be eaten with a utensil!). I'm also looking for a few more
people to bring sliced fruit (cool and refreshing as the kids will
be HOT!) Sliced (and
quartered) watermelon, oranges, melon, strawberries and the like would be
great. PLEASE email Deedee Evans if you can help!
Band Picture Day
Band Picture Day is Thursday, July 31, 2008. This year's picture will be taken at the Madison City FootballStadium on Celtic Drive.
On Wednesday July 30th, students WILL take home their uniform, hat,and instrument after the last practice. (Don't worry you will have youruniform assigned to you before the 30th).
On Thursday, Mr. Thornton will open the Band Room at 5:30 pmfor Sousaphones and Drummers to get their instrument.
Everyone else will meet at the stadium at 6pm in uniform. Immediately after the pictures are completed EVERYONE willreturn their band uniform to the Band Room!
Picture envelopes will be passed out on Mon. July 28th after practice. If you would like to order a group picture and/or individual picture of your student, you must include payment in the picture envelope. Envelopes with orders are due at the time of the pictures are taken.
Parents we will need some help so if you can come to the stadium that would be great!!

New Webmaster Needed for BJHS Band Boosters Website
After 5 years, spanning the time my son (Brian) and daughter (Katy) have been a part of the BJHS Band / Color Guard, the time has come for me to transition this effort to another Band parent. If you have an interest in doing this, please send me an email.

Upcoming Dates to Remember
July 21st-30th - Band Camp @ 8-11 am and 4-8 pm, except on July 30th there is no 4-8 pm session.
July 29th - Band parents Meet & Greet in the Band Room @ 7 pm.
July 21st - Band Picture Day.
