Happy New Year!  I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and enjoyed time with family and friends.

Now it’s time to get back into the swing of school and all the activities that go along with that.

I want to remind everyone that the $50 band fee is due tomorrow (Friday, Jan 6)  Please make checks out to BJHS Band and put your students name in the memo part of your check.  Checks can be placed in the locked wooden box  outside the directors office.  Make sure your drivers license number is on your check.

If your student uses a school instrument, there is also a $50 rental fee that is due tomorrow as well.  Makes those checks out to BJHS Band and along with your child’s name in the memo line put insturment rental.

Everyone should have gotten their fruit today.  Hopefully it is all in good shape and everyone got what they ordered.  IF you have any problem with your fruit, we need to know ASAP.  If your order contained large boxes of grapefruit,  we did not receive any large boxes, we were given 2 small boxes to make the large.  Hope this did not cause too much confusion.

We have a few extra boxes to sell, provided everyone’s order is correct.  If you are interested in purchasing any extra fruit let me know.  With the holidays fast approaching, we need to sell the extra we have before the break.

Here is what we have:

1 small box of Navels-$18  1 large box of navels-$31   2 small boxes of grapefruit-$16 each 

1 box tangerines-$18   3 fresh medley-$24 each   3 small boxes tangelos-$17 each

If any of you are available to help with delivery or pickup of fruit tomorrow please let me know.

I just got word that the fruit will NOT be in until tomorrrow morning.  The truck is still in Florida.  We will do pickup toorrow from 3:30 – 5:30.  I am sorry for the inconvience.  If you cannot get your fruit tomorrow during these times, please let me know.

The band’s winter concert is tomorrow night, Tuesday, December 13 at 7 p.m. in the Zompa Auditorium.  Students need to be there at 6 p.m.  Students should wear casual dressy, NO JEANS. 

Fruit will be delivered on Wednesday, December 14.  Pick up time is between 3:30 and 5:30.  If you cannot pick up fruit at this time, please let me know so we can make other arrangements.

Fruit will be coming in on Wednesday morning December 14!!!

We need everyone to pick up their fruit Wednesday afternoon between 3:30 and 5:30.  If you cannot make it during those times you need to email me or Liz Foote at foote@knology.net to make other arrangements.  It is fine for students to pick up fruit, it does not have to be an adult.

Students are to wear casual dressy clothes for the concert. NO JEANS. Boys do not have to wear suits and ties, and girls do not have to wear dresses, but the directors would like them to be dressed in nice clothes. Nice Christmas sweaters would be appropriate as well.

Students will be wearing their marching uniforms for the parade instead of jeans and jerseys.  They need to be at the band room at 4:30 to dress and then they will need to carpool or be dropped off at the parade gathering site by Kroger.  Once the parade is finished they will need to return to the bandroom.  Uniform pants will need to be taken home and washed and returned next week.
